ARTIST BIO
Claire Burke was born in Surrey. She was a creative child, often sewing, drawing, painting and making jewellery, but professionally she went down the route of a business degree after leaving school. Her calling to create art never went away, and after a short course at West Dean College, Claire left her office job and started her journey as an artist. It was during a painting workshop in 2010 she discovered acrylics and has been hooked ever since.

Her artist mission statement is to make beautiful contemporary abstract art which gives cause for thought, interpretation and contemplation. Her pieces bring tranquility with harmonising colour palettes and movement, such that her work is often viewed as being calming whilst full of intrigue. She loves working with acrylic paint given its versatility. As her style, mark-marking and sources of inspiration for her work evolves, her work moves in new and interesting directions.

She is a member of the Bucks Art Society, Beechwood Art Group, as well as larger artist networks such as the Connected Artist Club, SAA and Art Tribe. She has exhibited at Contemporary Art Fairs, as well as a solo exhibition in Chalfont St Peter.
