ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

CHARISSA RISLEY

Charissa’s passion for art developed from a young age. Her mother is an acclaimed artist, who instilled in her that a piece of art should be “beautiful, as well as emotive and personal to its owner”. Her father’s profession as a hotelier for a luxury hotel group meant her family lived and travelled all around the world. This immersed Charissa with many different cultures, opening her eyes to a wide array of artistic heritages. She was also exposed to the interior design of those fine luxury hotel establishments. Her upbringing was the foundation behind her love of art, interiors and her “incredible eye”

After a long career in finance, Charissa returned to her lifelong passion of art enrolling at Sotheby’s Institute to develop her formal art education. Through her studies and discussions with interior design contacts, she saw a business niche for providing a bespoke personalised service sourcing beautiful art direct into clients’ homes. 

Artfully Sorted was born.
