ARTIST BIO

London based French artist Anne Zieler began her artistic journey in Latin America. Captivated and fascinated by Inca pottery, she took part in ceramic workshops whilst living there. Her studies continued in Europe, and then in Japan where she undertook intensive training under theguidance of Master Potter Yukiharu Furuno.

Subsequently, Anne joined the Jalan Bahar Clay Studios in Singapore, a community of renowned local ceramicists. Here she began working independently and concentrated on refining her ceramic techniques.

Anne’s ceramics have a tactile quality and reflect her international life path, particularly her years in Asia, which are a key source of inspiration behind her work. Each one of her pieces is unique and conveys a sense of calm and harmony. She has shown her work in various art exhibitions in Singapore as well as London.

Of her work Anne shares “my aim is to make simple but delicate pieces that convey a sense of calm and peacefulness, creating a contrast between texture, shade, and form. Whether throwing on the wheel or hand-building, I like to challenge myself by pushing the limits of clay, experimenting with different shapes, techniques, and glazes to create unique ceramic pieces.”
