North Devon is a favourite family spot of ours and I love the way Lundy island seems to appear and disappear according to the weather.
This was early in the morning from Saunton Sands looking out to sea. I wanted to capture searing sunshine but also the cold shiver you get down your spine when you first put your feet into the sea. Heaven!

KATHARINE ROWE
ARTIST BIO
Katharine Rowe is an English painter based in London who graduated in Fine Art and History of Art at the University of Edinburgh in 1999 and spent a year studying at Universite de la Sorbonne, Paris. Having spent a decade working in advertising Katharine felt the increasing need to be out of the office and with her paintbrush. The past 10 years have been dedicated to just that.
Katharine is strongly motivated by colour and she often spends up to an hour mixing and preparing paints before turning to the canvas. Katharine is always inspired by her surroundings from the varied landscapes of London to still lifes and portraits in my studio. Her works have been widely exhibited throughout London.
