Claire Oxley based in East Anglia studied at the Norwich School of Art and the universities of Oxford and Lancaster. Her abstract landscapes, inspired by her local Norfolk countryside, are distinctive through their colour intensity and rhythmic mark making.
The rhythmic movement in her paintings is a reflection of Claire’s fascination by the interplay between music and art. Not only as she enjoys them both, but also as she has synesthesia, a condition where the brain links a person’s senses together in a rare manner, prompting unusual sensory responses to stimuli. Her paintings are heard as much as seen, and her colour combinations stimulate and bring energy to any interior space or wall.
Claire regularly exhibits across the UK and has an international collector base. She often works to commission often with interior designers.
